​​For the first time Cristina Mittermeier, who pioneered the concept and field of conservation photography, shares all she has learned over her illustrious career. Her photography focuses on demonstrating the important relationship between human cultures, indigenous people and biodiversity, the ocean and climate change.
In her Masterclass you’ll learn how to take powerful images that help us understand the urgency to protect wild places and to create photography with a purpose. “My work is about building a greater awareness of the responsibility of what it means to be human.”
Cristina has a degree in Biochemical Engineering in Marine Sciences and attended the Fine Art Photography program at the Corcoran College for the Arts in Washington, D.C. She has founded the prestigious International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) and co-founded SeaLegacy, a non-profit organization using strategic communications to protect and rewild the ocean. She is a Sony Artisan of Imagery and her work has been published in hundreds of prominent magazines, including National Geographic and TIME. She was named one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year in 2018.
